Donald Kolakowski has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Kent State University and was last seen onstage as The Emperor in THE EMPEROR'S GROOVY NEW CLOTHES at the Cleveland Playhouse. SHREK JR. makes his twelfth production for the Evanston Children’s Theatre as director. Cuckoo’s Theater Project credits include THE TEMPEST (Director), BARE: A POP OPERA (Assistant Director/Choreographer), THE GREEN BIRD (Director), and TICK, TICK…BOOM! (Director/Choreographer).

TCTP: What was your favorite show you were a part of in high school?
DK: My favorite show that I did in high school was Don’t Drink The Water by Woody Allen.
TCTP: Have you actually read Moby Dick?
DK: I’ve got my can-hooks in it now but it is quite blubbery.
TCTP: What is a piece of classical literature you would love to see turned into a musical?
DK: The Life of Pi
TCTP: Do you have a personal white whale? What is it? (Interpret how you wish.)
DK: Yes, I’ve been haunted by the pursuit of the perfected pierogi.
TCTP: What’s the most thrown together show you’ve ever done?
DK: I directed a show called The Lost Garden using produce and flashlights. Fun fact: Company Member, and our Costumer for Moby, Rocco Renda, was in the show.
