October 7, 2018

Oriana is a Stage Manager and theatre artist in the Chicago area. Past credits with TCTP include: BARBEQUE APOCALYPSE (Sound Designer), TICK TICK…BOOM! (Stage Manager), THE WATER CHILDREN (Stage Manager), and LANGUAGE OF ANGELS (Stage Manager). Oriana also works for Stage 773 as a stage manager/technician for a wide variety of comedy, staged readings, and short run performances. She thanks everyone on this motley crew for doin’ the art.
Get to know Oriana!
TCTP: What was your favorite show you were a part of in high school?
OD: We did a production of 1984 during my senior year and it was the most memorable show I worked on because cast and crew was involved in all aspects of the show. It was great to be able to get a more hands on experience before going to college since it gave me an introduction to all aspects of putting up a production.
TCTP: Have you actually read Moby Dick?
OD: I had to read selected excerpts in high school, but have never read the book in its entirety.
TCTP: What is a piece of classical literature you would love to see turned into a musical?
OD: Herland – Charlotte Perkins Gilman (a fantastic piece of feminist sci-fi)
TCTP: Do you have a personal white whale? What is it? (Interpret how you wish.)
OD: I am forever on a quest to find that perfect work/life balance that will allow me to spend as much time with my cats in a blanket fort as humanly possible. Until then, I’m perpetually juggling ye olde day job with my artistic pursuits.
TCTP: What’s the most thrown together show you’ve ever done?
OD: It wasn’t thrown together per say, but it was the most chaotic show I’ve ever worked on while in college, and it will forever stand out to me as such: The Producers.
Check out Oriana's work in MOBY DICK! THE MUSICAL running October 29 - December 1 at Heartland Studio. Get tickets here: https://dime.io/events/moby-dick-the-musical
