Jackie Seijo is thrilled and honored to be making her Cuckoo’s Theater Project debut with STOP KISS. Based in Chicago, Jackie is an actor, martial artist and introverted Netflix lover. Some of her favorite roles include THREE SISTERS (Masha), and SPEECH AND DEBATE (Diwata) and has had the pleasure of working with stellar companies like Waltzing Mechanics, Vision Latino Theatre and Blue Goose Theatre Ensemble. Jackie is incredibly happy that you have decided to leave the comfort of your home to join us on this journey and she hopes that this play has as much an impact on you as it does on her. She’d like to thank her friends, family, and Angela for their wonderful support.
Get to know Jackie! :
TCTP: When was a time that you stood up for yourself? Did it work out in your favor?
JS: I stood up for myself and my partner on the train once. This woman was asking for money but would not leave us alone after we had already said no. She kept verbally attacking us, but I held my ground and just kept telling her to leave us alone and that she needed to walk away. Fortunately, nothing escalated and she moved on.
TCTP: Callie is a not-so- secret foodie. What’s your favorite restaurant in the city to bring friends to?
JS: I. Fucking. Love. Crisp. End of story.
TCTP: Stop Kiss takes place in the 90s, so what’s one thing from that decade you would want to bring back?
JS: Pretty much all cartoons and everything that was actually good on Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. I want all that to come back asap.
TCTP: Have you ever been an innocent bystander in a situation? What did you do?
JS: I have been a bystander. But I don’t think it has ever been something extremely violent. Mostly it’s just been watching drunk people interact with other people or being belligerent. Lately, I’ve been a lot more aware of things like that and trying to make the decision to not just be a bystander if I see something that really needs attention and intervention.
TCTP: Straddle or Swerve?
JS: I always do my best to straddle.
Come see Jackie and the rest of the cast of Stop Kiss, running April 7- May 6 at The Vault at Collaboraction Studios in the Flat Iron Arts Building
