Kate Fitzgerald is a Chicago based actress originally from St. Louis. Her favorite credits include CLYBOURN PARK (Besty/Lindsey)(Open Door Theatre Co.) and PETER/WENDY (Wendy) with Cuckoo’s Theater Project last season. Kate trained at Illinois Wesleyan University and the British American Drama Academy. Special thanks to my extensive support system of friends, family, and colleagues.
Get to know Kate! :
TCTP: When was a time that you stood up for yourself? Did it work out in your favor?
KF: Advocating for my own development has been a scary but positive experience. You might not know everything, but believing you have the skills to figure it out is the best source of confidence I’ve learned.
TCTP: Callie is a not-so- secret foodie. What’s your favorite restaurant in the city to bring friends to?
KF: I’m a really big fan of Homeslice in Lincoln Park. It might not be deep-dish but it’s delightful.
TCTP: Stop Kiss takes place in the 90s, so what’s one thing from that decade you would want to bring back?
KF: Bring back the tamaguchis
TCTP: Have you ever been an innocent bystander in a situation? What did you do?
KF: So far I have not. It makes me nervous to think about the “What would you do” episodes on a TV show. I hope I’d do the right thing but you never know until you’re in the moment how you’ll behave under duress.
TCTP: Straddle or Swerve?
Come see Kate and the rest of the cast of Stop Kiss, running April 7- May 6 at The Vault at Collaboraction Studios in the Flat Iron Arts Building
