Meet the team of WOMEN - Randy John (Set Design)

Randy Buehler is a freelance set designer and graphic artist. Some of his set design credits include, THE SUGAR BEAN SISTERS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and COME BLOW YOUR HORN. He has also built sets for Chicago designers Bryan Traynor (Lyric Opera) and Brian Sidney Bembridge. Originally from Michigan, he studied classical piano at Western Michigan University, has music directed and accompanied over 15 shows throughout the Midwest and now calls Chicago home. Randy is incredibly grateful to Melissa for bringing him on as a part of this fabulous, creative team.

 

Get to know Randy! :

 

TCTP: Sisterhood is one of the main themes of our show. Do you have any siblings?

 

RB: Yes. I am the eldest of 5.

 

TCTP: Jo from Little Women is considered to be a classic literary character, who is your favorite?

 

RB: Hmmmmm... So many from which to choose. Wonder Woman. Final answer. (Laughing)

 

TCTP: Our show combines the classic plot of Little Women with the characters and language of the HBO show Girls. What is your favorite millennial phrase or slang?

 

RB: I ain't tryin to...

 

TCTP: We get to see years of the March sisters childhood's crammed into a little over an hour. What is one of your favorite childhood memories?

 

RB: Putting on a death defying waterski show with my brother and cousins one July 4th.

 

TCTP: This is an easy one. Favorite book? Can be classic or contemporary. (Just like our show!)

 

RB: Chopin Complete Preludes & Etudes for solo piano
