Get to know Domenic!
TCTP: Jonathan Larson also wrote RENT. What’s your go to RENT song to belt when you’re alone?
DP: Just like I feel everyone can classify themselves as a“Friends” Character or “Sex and the City” gal, I feel like Rent has character Archetypes. I blast anything Mark. The opening to La Vie Boheme, What you Know, Tango Maureen. They are all my Jam. (I’m also a Carrie/Miranda combo about 40% Carrie 60% Miranda and I identify with Gunther)
TCTP: The main conflict of the show is dealing with not accomplishing what you thought you would. Have you ever struggled with that?
DP: Daily. No, Hourly.
TCTP: What’s your favorite lyric in the show?
DP: “It’s such a drag, when the World’s so mean”
TCTP: Susan doesn’t love being a dance teacher and John doesn’t love working at a diner, while Michael eventually gave up the arts for corporate America. What’s your relationship with your survival job?
DP: My survival job is the fucking coolest. I’m a Barber and make people look good all day while standing around with my friends and listening to great Music. Barbershop life is rad.
TCTP: John is ashamed of his Twinkie obsession. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
DP: Gummies for sure if we’re talking Sugar. Dixie Chicks turned up to 11 if we’re talking super guilty pleasure. How can you deny those harmonies?
